Summer Memories

With the upcoming summer weather approaching people are making plans for travel (either to other countries or the local swimming pool) and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge what summer means to me. It used to mean lazy days in Central Park, or hanging out in Washington Square with other skaters. Now being a new father it means a whole lot more. Now it’s evenings walking in Harlem with my family, or Saturday’s down at Coney Island Amusement Park or on the beach (or an occasional trip down to North Carolina), but mostly it’s just enjoying my years with my family and looking forward to evenings in front of the TV watching a movie (or Bumble Nums for my son).

I love the life I’ve lived, but cherish the life I live now watching my son grow and my wife blossom as a new mother which she says has been the biggest blessing in her life.

I’m glad for these days, for as many as I have for now.
